Envisage Paediatric Dental Care covers all of your children’s dentistry needs including preventive treatments, early interceptive treatments, and corrective treatments to keep your children smiling.

Preventive Treatment

You must have heard the saying that -Prevention is better than cure. At Envisage, we strongly believe that to have good oral health as adults and prevent damaged teeth, we must always emphasise paediatric dentistry.

Children suffer from several conditions like gum diseases, dental caries, enamel erosion, orthodontic issues, etc. Visiting a paediatric dentist twice a year will reduce these issues and keep your child’s mouth and teeth healthy throughout their life.

At Envisage, our paediatric dentists take care of the oral health of children and offer special treatments for sick and disabled children.

We perform a comprehensive dental check-up, which includes a thorough inspection of the teeth and gums of your children. We use the information gathered during our evaluation to provide a detailed diagnosis and treatment plan for your child.

Routine Examination & Education

Routine dental examinations are a vital part of preventive dental healthcare. As soon as your baby’s first tooth appears, you should visit the nearest dentist. Although the first set of their teeth will be replaced by permanent ones, it is important to care for your child’s teeth as early as possible.

At Envisage Dental Clinic, we perform regular dental examinations for children. Our paediatric dentists will clean the dental plaques and food particles that might have been lodged in the teeth of your baby. It is an important step in preventing tooth decay or gum inflammation.

After this, our specialist will examine your child’s teeth, jaw, and oral tissues. Any kind of dental issues that can be anticipated in the future is noted and informed to the parents.

They will also discuss your child’s diet, oral hygiene practices, and brushing techniques suitable for them.

Fluoride Application

Fluoride application is a safe, simple, painless, and non-invasive process that is beneficial to prevent dental caries and any other kind of tooth decay. Fluoride inhibits tooth demineralization, improves remineralization, and diminishes bacterial metabolism. It also hardens the enamel and makes it more resistant to demineralization. Hence, fluoride treatment is essential during the developing age of children.

Fluoride can be used as gel, foam, or rinse on your child’s teeth. Depending on the severity of the risk factors, our doctor may request that the Fluoride Treatment be repeated once or twice a year.

At Envisage Dental Clinic, our paediatric dentists will topically apply fluoride to your child’s teeth. They might ask your child to wait before consuming anything or brushing their teeth after fluoride application.

We recommend continuing fluoride treatment till your child reaches 16 years of age. They may continue the treatment as teens and adults too for healthy and bright teeth.

Tooth Cleaning

Children’s oral health is vital for their development. They need healthy teeth to chew easily and have normal speech development. Even the best brushers and flossers won’t be able to reach every nook and corner of their mouth. So, their teeth must be cleaned on a regular basis by a dentist.

If your child has decay in their baby tooth, then it can be an indicator of the fact that their permanent teeth may also be prone to decay. This is why regular dental cleaning is the most ideal way to keep your child’s smile beautiful and healthy.

At Envisage, we offer this treatment to support the restoration of your child’s pearly white teeth, preventing cavities, and tooth loss, brightening teeth, and improving overall oral health.

Pit and fissure sealant

Pits and fissures are surface imperfections that occur naturally on the biting surface of most erupting teeth. These are more prone to caries than the smooth surfaces of teeth as the enamel in the pit and fissures does not receive the same protection provided by fluoride compared to the enamel in smooth surfaces. This makes oral hygiene challenging as these areas are prone to plaque accumulation, bacterial infiltration, and cavity formation which may eventually lead to tooth decay.

At Envisage, we carefully place compounds called dental sealants in these pits and fissures to provide a smooth, easy-to-clean surface. Sealants are applied to back teeth which have more pits and fissures. The process is a safe and painless process in which our pediatric dentist will examine your child’s teeth and identify deep grooves that need to be sealed. The teeth are cleaned well, and the liquid sealant is applied and allowed to set hard.

These sealants provide a physical barrier that prevents the accumulation of food particles and bacterial infiltration. It helps in preventing the formation and progress of caries.

These sealants can wear off over time, and it is important to get them checked by a dentist regularly, to make sure that seal is still intact. Our dentist may ask you to add or replace sealant depending on the condition of your child’s tooth.

Early Interceptive Care

Early Interceptive care, also known as early orthodontic care is a dental treatment specifically for children whose teeth are still developing. At this stage, it is easy to identify and treat orthodontic problems while the child is growing compared to when they are grown-ups. It is done to fix problems with teeth or jaw at an early stage so that the treatment becomes easier in the future.

This treatment involves conducting a detailed clinical oral examination to study if there are any issues. Interceptive orthodontic treatments might be required if your child has teeth crowding, jaw irregularities, dental arches, protruding teeth, a family history of dental issues, etc.

Early Interceptive care is a two-phase treatment provided to young children.

Phase 1 of the treatment focuses on correcting any issues in the teeth before the permanent teeth come. It might involve the use of palatal expanders, space maintainers, and other devices to guide your child’s teeth in the correct position.

Phase 2 of the treatment will depend on the results of phase 1. We examine how well phase 1 treatment has worked and whether your child will need any further treatments like braces etc. If the phase 1 treatment was successful, then phase 2 might be shorter and less intensive.

At Envisage, we provide early interceptive treatment plans tailored to your child and correct dental problems before it becomes a serious issue. It decreases extractions, reduces the need for expanding the jaw, corrects potential speech problems, and any swallowing issues thereby maintaining healthy and stable oral health.

Corrective Treatment

At Envisage, we offer several gentle and safe corrective treatments to keep your child’s smile healthy. All the corrective treatments that we offer are done using medical-grade materials and the industry’s best technology. Our corrective treatment is designed to last for a lifetime and will keep your child’s oral health at its best.

Paediatric Filling

There are various types of dental fillings that can be used to fill the cavities that form easily and quickly in the primary teeth of children. These cavities can develop into infections and cause discomfort or infection that may also spread to other teeth too.

At Envisage, our paediatric dentist shall examine your child’s teeth, they might even take a digital X-ray to understand further about the area which is affected. They shall discuss and recommend the best fillings for your child’s teeth.

Cosmetic tooth-coloured dental fillings are recommended more than metal ones as they seamlessly blend with the child’s teeth.

Pulpotomy

Does your child complain about pain when they eat something hot, cold, or sweet? It might be due to inflammation in their pulp which is known as pulpitis.

Pulpotomy is a minimally invasive dental procedure that is performed when tooth decay has reached inside the pulp of the tooth. In pulpotomy, the infected or injured pulp is removed. The rest of the pulp and the tooth is protected by a crown that is sealed using a medicated filling.

At Envisage, our dentist will apply a topical anaesthetic followed by local anaesthesia injections. The decay around the affected tooth is carefully removed and coronal pulp is removed and the radicular pulp is covered with medicines. The pulp chamber is sealed with a base and the tooth is restored. Pain medications will be provided to ease your child’s pain.

Stainless Steel Crowns

A crown’s function is to protect the tooth structure and retain its function. Stainless steel crowns are commonly used in paediatric dentistry and are safe and ideal to be placed over the damaged tooth.

At Envisage, we encourage the adoption of stainless-steel crowns as it gives full coverage, more durability and prevents the tooth filling from getting damaged thereby reducing further damage to the tooth.

The process of applying the crown involves removing the decay around the affected tooth and cleaning it before a crown is cemented over the tooth. Stainless steel crowns can be fixed in a single dental appointment and will last till your child’s tooth is naturally lost.

Stainless steel crowns are available in various sizes and can be customised as per the size of your child’s tooth. Our dentists will determine the right size and make modifications so that the crown fits.

Orthodontic treatment

If your child has a jaw that is not aligned with the face, breathing through the mouth, has crowding of teeth, overbite or underbite issues, and frequent thumb-sucking issues then you should consult a dentist and start their orthodontic treatment.

Orthodontic treatments are a type of dentistry that involves repositioning mismatched teeth for better function, to improve the jawline and face’s cosmetic appeal. It prevents and repairs anomalies in your child’s tooth and aids in the prevention of dental problems in the future.

We also perform jaw surgery to correct jaw abnormalities, realigning the jaws with the teeth thereby improving your child’s appearance. Our treatment can fix small and substantial problems in the jaw structure of your child.

Space Maintainers

Your child may lose their primary teeth early which may affect their vital functions like chewing, smiling, talking, etc. This can also lead to difficulties in speaking, poor formation of jaws, and low self-esteem.Space Maintainers help in preserving the gaps in the teeth until the permanent teeth emerge. These do not cause any pain as they do not move at all, and children adapt to them quickly.

At Envisage, we offer space maintainers that maintain and regain the space lost in between the teeth. It preserves space inside your child’s mouth for the proper development of their teeth.

Space maintainers are customised appliances and our dentists shall make an impression of the site that requires the space maintainers. The impression is sent for making the space maintainer and can be fixed at the second visit after checking the fit and doing adjustments if required.

Our doctors will recommend a follow-up visit to adjust sore points. examine gum health, caries risk factors, etc.

Extractions

Children might require tooth extractions in case of decay, injury, gum diseases, etc. Extraction involves loosening and removal of a tooth by using a local anaesthetic to numb the area to reduce the amount of pain.

At Envisage, our dentists shall take X-rays of your child’s mouth and teeth to predict any complications. Local anaesthesia is provided to numb the area and the tooth is extracted. They will be provided with medicines to reduce pain and swelling and fasten the healing process.

We are dedicated to giving each of our patients the healthy smile they deserve!
